About Grant

Grant Custance is the Founder and CEO of nimbus, a Australian-based software company building cloud technology that reshapes how enterprises manage their workforce and protect business continuity.

A solutions-led founder, Grant has been the driving force behind nimbus’ cloud-first platform, designed to give organisations a secure, scalable and compliant way to schedule staff, run high-performing contact centres, and automate telecommunications continuity in moments of disruption. His work is grounded in the belief that operational excellence and compliance certainty should be engineered into systems, not left to chance, manual effort, or payroll.

Grant is also the inventor of a globally applicable patent for telephony softphone control via a web application. The patent’s capability has influenced how modern, distributed workforces operate today.

Before founding nimbus, Grant established Open Wave in 1998, serving as CEO and later Chairman. Open Wave delivered enterprise workforce management technology to call centres across the world, enabling government and publicly listed organisations to scale with control, predictability and cost discipline.

Across both companies, Grant’s career has been defined by a consistent theme: turning complex workforce, compliance and continuity challenges into commercially resilient solutions that allow enterprises to operate with confidence, in any state, at any scale.
